Description
- 184cm. high, 67.5cm. wide, 65cm. deep; 6ft.¾in., 2ft.¾in., 2ft.1¾in.
the moulded leaf-carved top-rail above a carved panel with putti and drapery flanked on either side by square verde antico marble panels, the central carved back panel depicting Mercury in a seascape with foliage and fruiting swags within an architectural floral niche and guilloche frame flanked by male and female terms above a further panel carved with strapwork and a rectangular seat with foliate carved front and side-rails, the carved arms terminating in ram monopodia on a shaped plinth with a solid backboard
Condition
Overall minor marks, chips and scratches. Very minor evidence of old worm which appears to be no longer active. There is a crack at the right front side of the seat, which can easily be filled. Minor panel shrinkage. The marble has been replaced. Hairline construction cracks to the terms and construction cracks generally. In overall good condition.
