Description
- 205cm. high, 64cm. wide, 19cm. deep; 6ft.8¼in., 2ft.¾in., 7½in.
with a later moulded cornice above a raised rectangular panel, the back with a moulded border flanked by fluted pilasters with Ionic capitals above reeded arms on turned tapering supports above a hinged seat, the solid base applied with raised rectangular panels
Condition
Old marks, chips and scratches commensurate with age and use. Old minor restorations generally. Two of the scrolls on the capitals have been chipped off. The back panel was formally hinged but has now been fixed so it cannot open. The seat has several gouges and a restored piece at the front. The lock plate is now missing and there are some lighter patches on the front bottom panel where it was formerly attached. The frieze panel and the horizontal piece below the back would appear to be later replacements. In overall good conserved condition.
