Description
- 173cm. high, 190cm. wide, 221cm. long; 5ft.7½in., 6ft.2½in., 7ft.2½in.
with a boldly scrolled cresting centered by a stylised anthemiom above a scrolled boss with the coat of arms of Albani of Rome, above a rectangular headboard flanked by baluster turned uprights with a flaming gadrooned urn finial on a turned socle carved with drapery swags, the side-rails carved with a band of geometric motifs with a similarly footboard and supports on cup and cover legs on block feet
Condition
There are construction cracks and cracks generally as visible form the photograph commensurate with age and the headboard has been strengthened at the back. Old marks and chips generally. There has been some paint spattering which can easily be cleaned off. There are some old minor retorations to the carved sections which have been well executed and are not too noticeable. There are some minor losses to the carving and the left finial on the headboard has a crack running through it. In overall good conserved condition. High quality and rare Italian Renaissance bed. Highly recommended.
