Catalogue Note

Hobhouse's account of a tour made with his friend Byron in 1809 and 1810 is an important source for that period of the latter's life as well as for the intellectual movement prior to the outbreak of the Greek insurrection. It is also valuable for the depiction of life in the court of Ali Pasha, with whom Hobhouse stayed in October 1809.
