Catalogue Note
A work profusely illustrated with lithographs after drawings by the author. Estourmel travelled in Greece, the Levant and Egypt from June 1832 to September 1833 during which time he met many other European travellers, such as Michaud, Fauvel, Geramb and Hay. Among the places visited were Corfu, Ioannina, Missolonghi, Patras, Corinth, Piraeus, Athens, Rhodes, Smyrna, Chios, Malta and other places in the east.
