Catalogue Note
This was probably intended as the first of a series of works on the islands, but was the only one to appear. This first edition is distinguished from the second edition by the engraved title page and the 30 page appendix at the end containing, inter alia, a list of the members of the Academy of Argonauts.
As noted above (lot 42) the contents of most Coronelli publications vary and for this edition of Isola di Rodi none of the copies consulted agree - Nordenskiöld, Weber and Lascarides, or indeed this copy - therefore the work is sold not subject to return.
