"Voutier went to Greece in 1821 and acted as ADC to Mavrocordatos on the Peta campaign. He returned to France in 1823 and published his memoirs, mostly imaginary and extremely flamboyant, confirming all the philhellenic myths... while more truthful but unpalatable reports were suppressed" (Blackmer).
