Catalogue Note

Trikoupis (1788-1873) held many diplomatic and political posts during a lengthy career and was, from 1833, Greece's first Prime Minister. His Istoria thV EllhnikhV EpanastasewV is a magisterial work on the War of Independence, but his most memorable literary effort was his much-translated funeral oration for his friend Lord Byron.
