Catalogue Note
This is one of the pirated editions that Blackmer suggests drove Stackelberg in 1831 to reprint his work in a German edition: Trachten und Gebräuche der Neugriechen (lot 194), though Colas suggests a date of publication c.1835. It varies from the other editions in this collection (lots 192 and 194) in that the plates are lithographed (printed by Senefelder), not engraved, but the subjects are identical to those in Trachten und Gebräuche.
