Catalogue Note

Savary spent a considerable time in Crete and visiting some of the islands of the Dodecanese and Cyclades, though his information on Rhodes was supplied by the French consul Pontier. His letters describe conditions on the Greek islands rather than archaeological or antiquarian matters.
