Catalogue Note

Prokesch-Osten travelled extensively in Greece and Asia Minor and later in Egypt. He is said by some sources to have been a spy in the Austrian service during the Greek War of Independence. This work was edited by Ernst Münch from the letters exchanged between Prokesch-Osten and the deceased Julius Schneller.
