Catalogue Note

An account of the expedition of the Catalan Grand Company, a band of fearsome mercenaries, to the Levant in 1302–1388. After being hired by the Byzantine Emperor to fight the Turks, they turned against him and fell on the Latin settlements in Greece. This, and other editions, were probably inspired by the Greek War of Independence.
