Description

  • 1264gr. excluding metal stem, height 184.2cm.
shaped like a shepard's crook, the curved top applied with silver-gilt vine tendrils and chased with vines and stylized grain ears, an openworked knob decorated with flowers, the plain metal stem with two knobs with pearl rims, the curved part with inscription Herinnering aan de parochianen van Velddriel fecit H. Teulings, fully marked at the curved part (4)

Provenance

This crosier used to be in the possesion of the Dutch missionairy bishop Michael Verhoeks C.M. and Jan Klooster of Surabaya (Dutch East Indies).

Condition

Marks clear, maker's mark slightly rubbed, scratches and dents of use, overall good, please note that the stem is made out of metal.
