each candle branche applied with laurel leafs, a young boy leaning against it, holding a vessel, on circular onyx and gilt-bronze profiled base
Condition
In overall good condition, minor chips to the onyx, one onyx circular base with chip (1cm) to back, minor soiling to the gilding, one candelabra lacking two inset candle bobeches, one laurel leaf tip bend of top candle branch, some minor casting flaws.

Catalogue Note
Louis Kley (1833-1911) was born at Sens in 1833 and studied under Lequien and exhibited at the Salon from 1853 and won a silver medal at the Exposition of 1889 and many other prizes. He produced allegorical and neoclassical groups and statuettes as well as portrait busts of contemporary Frenchmen in bronze and terracotta.
