Description

  • 42cm. high including finial.
17.5-cm arched brass dial with engraved border and centre, silvered chapter ring with Roman numerals and pierced blued hands, cherub spandrels and engraved silvered subsidiary for fast/slow signed Pieter Wessels A Grouw, double fusee verge movement converted from balance to pendulum, trip repeating rack striking on a bell, walnut veneered moulded break arch case surmounted by three brass urn finials, glass panels to the front door and sides, raised on ball feet

Condition

dial in original but tarnished, silvered parts need to be done, movement complete but in need of a complete overhaul, wire of the going train tangled probably due to a ratchet that came loose, clock had originally a balance at the backplate, up/down installation for the balance spring still there and should be able to be restored fairly easily, 'scape wheel must have been replaced but some time ago, case in dirty original condition, back panel with later door to start the later pendulum, (a clock with a balance wheel doesn't need that), together with a winder
