The movement is running at the time of cataloguing. Rolex have confirmed that they have received this watch for service four times since 1995 and it was fully overhauled in 2004. The dial is in good condition, hands are later additions. Case and bezel with some scuffs but overall in good condition. Case no.3764838, ref. 5513, case back numbered 0552/923-7697 89/74.

The reference 5513 became an official Military issue model after the British Royal Navy commissioned a series of Submariners with specific adaptations. The strap bars of the watch were soldered in place for a more robust design and also to ensure that they could only be fitted with a non-reflective cloth strap. The dial was marked with an encircled 'T' to indicate the use of the luminous material tritium. Some versions of the Military Submariner, such as the current example, were fitted with a special fully calibrated bezel. The watches were also fitted with the hacking feature which was only introduced on the chronometer models at a later date and allowed the easy synchronisation of time, an especially useful function for troops on operations.
