Description
The brooch of floral design, centring on a cushion-shaped ruby within a border of brilliant-cut diamonds set en tremblant to a foliate sprig set with brilliant- and single-cut diamonds;together with a ring set to the centre with a cushion-shaped ruby within a border of single-cut diamonds, size M½.
Condition
Brooch: Stamped 750 for 18 carat gold to reverse. Ruby slightly purplish-red hue, moderate saturation of colour. Discoloured crack and surface reaching inclusions. Smaller rubies well matched in colour, few with minor abrasions. Estimated diamond weight approximately 1.70-2.00 carats.
Ring: Stamped 750 for 18 carat gold to shank. Ruby measuring 11.10mm x 9.10mm x 3.10mm, calculated to weigh approximately 2.94 carats, very slightly pinkish-red hue, moderate saturation of colour. Typical inclusions visible to naked eye. Chip to one corner of ruby and crack to another corner. Surface reaching inclusions. Estimated total diamond weight 0.30-0.60 carat.
