Description

Comprising: a brooch centring on a pear-shaped emerald to a surround of old mine diamonds, suspending a diamond capped cultured pearl drop; together with a pair of earrings en suite, post and butterfly fittings, 19th Century composite.

Condition

Brooch: Emerald measuring 16.30mm x 10.70mm x 5.50mm, calculated to weigh 5.21 carats, slightly bluish-green hue, moderate saturation of colour. Typical inclusions visible under x10 magnification and surface reaching inclusions. Estimated total diamond weight approximately 2.40-2.80 carats, bright and lively stones. Cultured pearl of elongated drop shape, rosé overtones, medium lustre. Later brooch fitting to reverse. In good condition. Earrings: Emeralds of slightly bluish-green hue, moderate to moderately-strong saturation of colour. Typical inclusions visible under x10 magnification. Abrasions to table and facet edges, one with chips to girdle. Diamonds of mixed colours and clarities. Later post and butterfly fittings to reverse. Later cultured pearl drops. In good condition.
