- 58cm. high handle down.
17.5-cm foliate engraved brass dial with cherub spandrels, engraved chapter ring with Roman numerals signed H. Nettmann à Cassel and foliate pierced hands, mock pendulum and subsidiaries for repeat/not repeat, strike/silent and non-functioning date, 8-day three train fusee verge movement with silk suspended pendulum, rack quarter striking on two bells, ebonized case with brass lined moulded top and shaped handle, glass panels to the front and sides, later moulded plinth raised on bracket feet
Condition
dial tarnished, dial with three holes probably from removed wheels/spring of the date work, movement very dirty and in need of a complete overhaul, springbarrel for the quarter striking train broken and with old repair, gutline for this barrel lacking, striking train needs to be adjusted, levers for the unlocking the striking train for repeat removed (simple repair), case dirty and with the usual scratches and dents due to age and wear, lacking top finials, plinth added probably late 19th/early 20th century, together with a pendulum
