30.5-cm brass dial, engraved silvered chapter ring with Roman numerals, pierced hands and engraved alarm disk, strike/silent above XII signed Ludu.s De Laene Renovatum, foliate pierced brass spandrels, subsidiary seconds and apertures for date and ships automaton in the arch with connection to the going train of the anchor movement with trip repeating rack dutch half hour striking on alternating bells, alarm on a single bell, re-veneered mahogany case with bell top surmounted by three urn finials, pierced frets under the break arch cresting, canted trunk with long break arch door and annular lenticle, moulded base with curbed knees raised on bun feet, restorations

Condition

dial slightly tarnished, minute hand repaired, ships automaton probably made in the last quarter of the 18th century, movement in working order but needs to be cleaned, probably associated to the case but both dial/movement and case of the same period, case reveneered in the 18th century (used to be bur wallnut), fret work replaced, case throughout pale with a crack across the front base; clock was "renovated" late 18th century, moonphase probably substituted by ships automaton and case reveneered from bur walnut to the more fashionable mahogany, together with three finials, a winder, a pendulum, a doorkey, four weights
