A rare Dutch Louis XVI rosewood repeating bracket clock, Johannes Elias, last quarter 18th century

24-cm engraved silvered chapter ring with Roman numerals signed Johannes Elias Amsterdam, foliate pierced hands, matted centre with apertures for date and moonphase, a well painted classical scene with Neptune, five pillar fusee movement with verge escapement and trip repeating Dutch rack half hour striking on two alternating bells, rosewood veneered case with bell top now surmounted by a giltwood angel, pierced frets to the sides, shaped glazed door with foliate carved surround, shaped base on carved scroll ball and claw feet, together with a matching ogee shaped bracket

chapter ring tarnished and probably needs to be resilvered, moonphase redone, painting below of good quality, a little dirty and with minor scratches, movement able to function but in need of a complete overhaul, verge restored and this causing the pendulum too be slightly too long, this needs some attention, case in original but slightly distressed condition, pale throughout, top finial should probably be an urn, this finial not original, all frets with small imperfections, repair to the veneer of the left side of the clock (could be improved), bracket with some small pieces of veneer lacking and a few replaced, together with a pendulum, winder, finial and bracket
