A Swiss gilt and enamel musical singing bird box late 19th century

rectangular engraved moulded box, the top with enamel polychrome flowers on a blue ground, gilt scroll surround, an oval medallion with an enamel pastoral scene opens up by tripping a lever to the front allowing the bird to stand up and wistle moving its prow, tail and wings, at the end of the tune the lid automatically closes on the bird which gets back into the box

enamel in original condition with one small scratch, box partly rubbed of the gilding, screws holding the top to the case all lacking (small repair), mechanism in good working order, playing and working well, no winder
