14.5-cm velvet covered brass dial with cherub spandrels and flanked by twisted brass columns, engraved chapter ring with Roman numerals signed C. v. Rossen op de Koogh, subsidiary quarters below and pierced single hour hand with alarm disc, brass posted verge movement with rosewood columns and knife-edge suspended horse-rider pendulum, y-spoke wheels and lantern pinions, Dutch countwheel quarter striking and alarm on two surmounted bells, moulded ebony veneered case with cast brass crestings and twisted brass side pillars, shaped rosewood veneered backboard with oval lenticle
Condition
brass of the dial all tarnished, back of the dial painted black and therefore difficult to establish originality, obvious later ring is added to hold the wheel for the hand, movement in good condition and working order ratchets wheels for the ropes probably restored, bell hammers restored, case lacking doors, backboard with veneer bubbles, small piece of wood above the right front pillar lacking, together with a pendulum and 4 weights
