each with upholstered trapezoide-shaped back, above a circular seat on ring-turned stop-fluted tapering legs surmounted by paterae, terminating in toupie feet, upholstered in cream-yellow fabric

The overall condition is good. Construction of three chairs slightly loose. Minor rubbing to the gilding and painted surface. Upholstery slightly dirty and slightly distressed

Catalogue Note
A similar set of six dining chairs by Georges Jacob was sold in 2000 with Drouot-Richelieu in Paris. These chairs were stamped G. Jacob and marked AT, GM and crowned B. The crowned B stands for Chateau Bagatelle, situated in Bois de Boulogne, which the brother of Louis XVI the Count of Artois bought in 1775. The architect Francois-Joseph Bélanger rebuilt Bagatelle in that same year and Georges Jacob was commissioned to furnish the different rooms of the castle.
