Description

  • 111cm. high, 111cm. wide, 35cm. deep.
demi-lune shaped marble top with bronze pierced gallery, above six double panelled drawers set with leaf-tip cast mouldings, the sides with etageres, on tapered feet

Condition

In overall good condion with the usual dents, marks and scratches due to use and age, middle right shelf with small damage to veneer.

Catalogue Note

Gervais-Maximilien-Eugène Durand, born in Paris on the 30th July 1839 started work in 1870 at 12 rue de La Cerisaie and moved to the rue de Beautreillis and subsequently to rue St Antoine. Specialising in the production of 18th century style furniture of the finest quality, he was the first of three generations of highly successful cabinet makers. With his son Frédéric-Louis joining him in around 1890, the firm altered its name to Durand et Fils.
