Description
- 34 and 26cm. high
raised on a tripod stand of ram's feet, decorated with satyr masks and their scrolling horns, connected by chains and tassels, the covers topped by flame finials; the candleholders with urn shaped nozzles on slender columns over round profiled bases
Condition
The cassolettes in overall good condition, one with shallow chip to the cover (ca. 2.5cm. long), another smaller restored chip and related hairline cracks, bronze mounts to rim of cover and upper rim of tazza loose, tiny chips and abrasion to the rims of the marble, rubbing to the gilding of the chains; the other with restored cover, abrasion to the rims of the marble and some fine scratches, one tiny piece of a horn broken off, one tassel missing. The candelholders with the usual dents, marks and scratches to the bronze work and the marble, one footring loose.
