A George III mahogany triple pedestal dining table circa 1810

the rounded rectangular top with a moulded edge, the pedestals all with tilting action, the turned columnar pedestals on a central quadruple splayed support and splayed tripod end supports all with moulded brass cappings and castors, the top of the central section moulded on all four sides for independent use as a breakfast table

Fair overall condition. The end pedestals now with metal pivots to enable them to revolve so the preferred positioning of the legs. The spare leaves now supported on sliding iron rods housed within the beares. Characteristic undulations to the top. One spare leaf with filled cracks. The other spare leaf with several thin cracks. Patches to the undersides of all top sections including spare leaves. Evidence of previous fixings to spare to underside of all sections. These could have taken the form of detachable hinges. General old marks and scratches. Good colour and fine quality figured timber to the top.
