A pair of French kingwood and gilt bronze mounted side cabinets mid-19th century

each with a grey marble top

A very decorative pair of small bibliotheques of good appearance and highly decorative. The gilt-bronze is worn and rubbed with some surface dirt. Some of the mounts are lacking - there is a swag lacking to the front apron (this loss is visible in the catalogue photograph). One of the sabot is missing to the right leg of the cabinet in the rear of the photograph (this loss is visible in the catalogue photograph). There are chips to the veneer, which is slightly lifting in places. One of the front panels is badly warped and cracked and the surface to the sides is slightly uneven. There is some fading from the sun. The marble tops have minor chips and scratches old and new - the colour is grey-brown.
