A fine William and Mary walnut side table circa 1700

the parquetry top inlaid with star motifs and with moulded edges to each side, with an oyster veneered frieze drawer, on spiral turned legs with X-frame flattened stretcher and bun feet

Generally tidy. Dark colour and patina. The top rim moulding with fragmented rear right corner and the front left corner with small loss. Top with old partial splits and bowing. One inside drawer side replaced and the floor replaced. This floor now with pronounced and warped split. Drawer knobs later. Worm to underframe. Old splits and some filler on legs. The later stretcher with worm. Bun feet partially replaced. Drawer front and side friezes with veneer splits. It is likely that stretcher is probably later or has been altered on this table.
