A fruitwood panel back armchair, Netherlandish early 18th century

of caqueteuse form, the shaped cresting with ball finials and carved with the date 'AN 1723' and the initials 'SE'  either side of an inlaid six pointed star above a panel back between boldly carved pilasters and with an oak trapezoid seat, on inverted baluster front legs and rear square legs with stretchers

Very attractive surface patination. There is a split to the back panel and separations to the moulded surround. Inlay loss to the star motif on the cresting rail. Fragmenting to the feet.
