A French walnut buffet á deux corps 17th century

of architectural form with pilasters and specimen marble insets, the upper section with a pair of doors enclosing a lined interior, the apron with a lined drawer, the lower section with two drawers and a pair of panelled doors with conforming lining to the reverse

Colour far less orange and slightly darker and more attractive than in the catalogue illustration. Part of internal lock replaced and there is an added section along the edge of the left door. The ebonsied sections are later. The drawers have been relined. Evidence of old worm which appears to be no longer active. The marble plaques on lower section have all been restored and the upper section marble plaques may well be later replacements. Old restorations generally. Section of moulding missing above the corbel on the lower section of the right side and a minor section of moulding is loose on the plinth towards the rear left edge of the upper section. In overall good condition.
