the fruitwood top with a moulded edge top above a frieze drawer on bobbin turned legs joined by a conforming peripheral stretcher

Condition

Tidy condition and attractive small size. Darkish colour, but some nice warmer colour throughout the top, on the drawer front and on the legs and stretchers. Nice patina to this piece especially to the top, which includes some black marks, old indents and old scratches. The top has typical splits and some traces of filler on these sites. The drawer appears to be all original and the metalwork also, though there is a lot of wear and ghosting on these sites with some old indents, possibly suggesting that the current old handles are possibly old replacements. The lock is lacking from the reverse of the drawer front. Some pronounced wear to stretchers and the tips of the feet probably worn and thus slightly reduced in height. A charming table of accommodating size. The top and the drawer front are in fruitwood the sides and all other elements are of oak.
