A rare silver mounted leather Wassail bowl English, late 17th century

the patinated leather bowl mounted with a scalloped and engraved rim, the white painted interior decorated with a blue painted border and worn painted foliate sprays, silver marks rubbed

Attractive and unusual with pleasing patination. The silver band is dented, split in places and the hallmarks are rubbed. The painted interior is distressed and dirty and there are losses to the white paint. The painted foliate sprays are not very discernable. The stiffened leather bowl has some crazing and marks in areas but is otherwise in good order. The piece is in fair unrestored condition.
