including a pair of armchairs, with arched anthemion-carved top-rails, pierced vase splats and stuffed seats, on square legs with stretchers, restorations

Condition

This is an attractive set of chairs however they have had a number of restorations including later corner brackets to the underside of the rails. All have old worm damage to the rails. All have slightly loose joints. Chair 1: Generally good condition. One front leg has been repaired and is cracked adjacent to the join with the stretcher. Chair 2, 3 ,4 and 5: Generally good condition. The splat has some age cracks and the shoe at its base is cracked. The cross stretcher is very scuffed. Chair 6: This chair has a repair on the top rail. Armchairs 7 and 8. Both of these chairs have cracked and repaired top-rails which will require further restoration. One has a repaired arm.
