Description
- 100cm. high, 81.5cm. wide, 45cm. deep; 3ft. 3½in., 2ft. 8in., 1ft. 5¾in.
each raised back with scrolled ends, the tops inset with later brass liners above two frieze drawers on slender turned and reeded tapering legs joined by an undertier, each bearing a label 'W.HUTTON, / Upholsterer / Cabinet and Chair Maker / AUCTIONEER & APPRAISER, / BARNSTAPLE / A regular supply of fashionable designs for Furniture'
Condition
Overall in good country house condition. The brass liners later as stated. One with a gouge to top edge of raised back. Minor integral cracks to the tops.

Catalogue Note
William Hutton is recorded as working at 93 High Street, Barnstaple, circa 1815-1820 and no. 102 in 1829, as advertised in the North Devon Journal, 8 October 1829 and stating 'that he is removed from his late residence to no. 102, the House later occupied by Mr. R. Gribble in High Street, where he solicits a continuance of that distinguished patronage with which he has been honoured since his establishment in business.'
