Description

  • Musical box: 8.5cm. high, 23.5cm. long, 16.5cm. deep; 3¼in., 9¼in.,6½in. Caddy: 13cm. high, 19cm. long, 10.5cm. deep; 5¼in., 7½in., 4¼in.Small box: 2.5cm. high, 11.5cm. long, 7cm. wide; 1in., 4½in., 2¾in.
of oval shape with cut-steel ornament, the interior fitted with mother of pearl scissors, needlecases, a cut glass scent bottle and other fittings, some non-matching fittings with a musical box below, together with a George III octagonal harewood and marquetry tea caddy with inlaid floral panels, a small oval fan inlaid box and a tortoiseshell caddy spoon  

Condition

All are in `country house' condition. The musical box is generally i good condition. The mirror on the inside of the lid is rather marked and discoloured and the floral border is coming loose. Several of the fittings are non-matching and there are others missing. The mechanism to the musical box needs cleaning and presently does not work. The lid to the octagonal box does not fit properly.
