A related wine-cooler of oval form with turned baluster legs is illustrated in Pery Macquoid & Ralph Edwards, The Dictionary of English Furniture, 3 vols, rev.ed., 1954, vol. 1, p.296. A similar example with a lid was sold these rooms, 29 June 2005, lot 65.
