Description

including a pair of armchairs, the rail backs with figured toprails, the buttoned nailed hide upholstered seats on turned front legs, restorations and parts later

Condition

Good overall restored condition. Later angle blocks to underframes. Re-finished. Due to highly re-finished surface to timber it is difficult to determine the level of restoration on this unusually long set of chairs. The back legs look in remarkably good condition without the usual signs of repair and splicing. In addition to this the feet of the rear legs look very `sharp' and it is possible that some of these back supports have been entirely replaced. Hence the catalogue description does not carry a date (see glossary of terms at the beginning of the catalogue). General old marks and scratches. Good consistent colour. A very userul long set of good sturdy construction. To discuss this lot in greater detail please call Edward Rising or David Macdonald on 0207 293 5107 or 0207 293 5507.
