the carved painted gold frame containing tapestry border panel fragments.

Condition

Minor marks and chips to the paint, carving and gilding. Traces of gilding underneath the gold paint. Some fading to the tapestry. Restorations throughout the cream colored areas. Silks dry. The two side panels with associated top and bottom scenes, possibly from another tapestry. Minor open warps. In otherwise good condition. Overall the colors are much less white than illustrated in the catalogue. The colors are more golden in reality.
