Catalogue Note

The original, preserved in the Museo Nazionale in Naples is a Roman Greek Revival statue of Artemis (museum no. 6008), discovered in Pompeii in 1760. This model was probably made in the late 19th century by the Chiurazzi foundry, who also produced marble pieces, see catalogue J.Chiurazzi & Fils - S. De Angelis & Fils, Bronzes-Marbres, Argenterie, Naples 1910, p. 97.
