Description

each thinly potted with steep rounded sides, the exterior painted with four stylised lotus florets in rich iron-red emitting trefoil leaves borne on curling stems in rich cobalt blue, with double-line borders at the rim, the base inscribed with the six-character seal mark in underglaze-blue

Sotheby's Hong Kong, 23rd November 1987, lot 105.

Condition

To one cup, there are five fine hairline cracks stemming down from the rim, the longest of which is approx 4.8cm. Otherwise the enamels are in tact and have been well preserved. The other cup is in very good condition. There is a short firing line on the base under the glaze, of approx 0.3cm.
