Description

of ogee form resting on a short foot, painted in vivid cobalt-blue tones on the exterior with two ferocious five-clawed dragons in mutual pursuit through flames and cloud swirls, the interior with a central medallion enclosing a dragon writhing among cloud swirls within a double-line border repeated at the rim, the base inscribed with the six-character seal mark in underglaze-blue

Condition

The rim has been slightly polished, but otherwise the piece is in good condition overall. There are six small glaze gaps to the exterior. There is a short stained scratch on the interior. There are two short body lines under the glaze associated with a small ironspot, the larger approx 0.2cm.
