Description

the shallow bowl with hexalobed sides curving at the mouth, the interior carved with a raised medallion encircling a mallow flower, surrounded by finely combed petals, the exterior with carved wave-like patterns articulating the distinct petals, covered overall with a pale-blue glaze pooling in the recesses of the carving, all supported on a low foot rim, the base unglazed revealing the pale body

Condition

There is one small area of firing flaw near the tip of the interier; two small iron spots near the central medallion, the largest 1/8 inch long; and a small cluster of kiln grit glazed over. The exterior of the mouth rim with one small iron spot. Some craquelure throughout, and a series of glaze cracks on one side of the exterior. In overall good condition. Inspected under UV light.
