Description

each of vertical rectangular form with square panel tops, the tallest with a diamond-shaped base within a square stretcher, with stained 'spotted' bamboo inlay to the sides; the second of hardwood with beaded edges and angular-scroll spandrels; the third a hongmu stand similar to the largest, with burlwood top panel; the smallest formed by thin reeds of bamboo displaying the nodes, with simple openwork apron, with pyrography figures, flowers and inscriptions along the members (4)

Condition

The largest piece is missing a ¼ inch wide section of the top panel. One of the joins at the base is very loose and requires regluing. The second tallest has a new splice across the top panel, along with a 4 inch crack. Two of the spandrels have loose sections. The third tallest has a 1 ½ inch crack on the burlwood top, with a 1 inch crack on the top frame. Two of the joins at the leg and base needs regluing. The smallest with a crack across the top panel. The joinery at the base and legs is intact but fragile.
