In good condition with one minor age crack at the foot. The top has wear and abrasions. Nice deep patina.

The inscription is an extract from 'Ode of the Red Cliff' by the Northern Song dynasty poet and calligrapher Su Shi (1037-1101). It can be translated as: 'The fresh wind was blowing gently on us without ruffling the calm water. We let the little boat float freely as it continued its motion across the vast expanse of water. [signed] Zhujun.'
