Description
of flattened hu-form, with waisted neck flanked by lion-head and pendant ring handles, the body tapering to a waisted foot and carved in low-relief with taotie masks, pendant leaves to the neck, modified lotus petals above the foot, the domed cover surmounted by a Buddhist lion, the stone of ivory-white with mottled gray at the neck and mouth and scattered inclusions, apochryphal incised six-character Qianlong mark to the shoulder; together with a celadon jade archaistic vase, of flattened hu-form tapering to the hollowed base, the waisted neck flanked by scrolling gui dragons, the body carved in low-relief with gui dragons and cicada lappets, the shoulder with four lion-head and ring 'handles' with floret and lappet upper borders, lotus petal bands to the base, the stone of pale celadon with pale russet and white inclusions, underside with apochryphal six-character Qianlong mark (3)

first vase with small chip to edge of cover, otherwise good; second vase lacking cover, slight polishing to one corner of base, internal flaws partially worked into carved design
