six-panel screen, ink and color on gold ground, depicting a scene from 'Tales of Genji', mounted on brocade
Condition
The whole gold background is later redone to repair some breaks with additional paper for fortification on top parts of the first and third panels, there are some losses and smear on the hinge parts, otherwise good condition.
