Catalogue Note
The fine quality, confident carving and voluptuous form of the present vase are closely related to that of a meiping with a heavily crazed glaze from a San Francisco Collection, sold in these rooms, 20th-21st November 1973, lot 292, and again 8th May 1981, lot 251. Compare also a larger meiping of similar form and decoration sold at Christie's New York, 24th March 2004, lot 173.
