Catalogue Note
It is rare to find vases with separate jade stands. In the case of white or pale celadon jade vases, the stands are usually of a contrasting green jade, such as the covered vase and stand formerly in the collection of the Countess of Halifax, sold at Christie's London, 8th June 2004, lot 433; and another covered vase and stand sold at Christie's New York, 23rd September, 1988, lot 234. For a larger covered vase and stand, all of pale celadon jade, compare the example formerly in the collection of Alan and Simone Hartman, sold at Christie's Hong Kong, 28th November 2006, lot 1387.
