Description
the flat slightly countersunk center with low rounded sides rising to an everted rim, applied with a pale light-blue glaze splashed with strokes of purple suffused with hues of turquoise-green draining to a mushroom tone around the rim, the unglazed foot and base revealing the grayish ware
Provenance
Sotheby's Hong Kong, 28th April 1998, lot 714.
Condition
In good overall condition with kiln grit to the interior, one unusually clumpy visible at 6 o'clock on the catalogue image. Also in the same area is either a burst air bubble or glaze pull. Approximately 1/8 inch long very shallow glaze flake to the rim. The exterior with one burst air bubble and cracks to the glaze from wear. The foot ring is not perfectly cut as there is a 1/5 inch section where the width of the ring is inconsistency thick. The splashed purple appears too blue in the catalogue image and the blue glaze is slightly greener than the catalogue suggests.
